Divert..

In an attempt to get blogging a little/a lot more I have moved my blog over too here.

Wordpress allows me to blog from my Blackberry, therefore limiting my excuses as to my disgusting lack of posts..

(p.s. I haven't transferred all my posts over there, quite frankly because the majority of them don't deserve the right to be reposted..)

Please come visit though :-)

Mothers

Growing up I created my own memories. It is only as I have grown and matured (slightly..) that I have become increasingly aware that I did this.

My first true memory is of sitting in my lounge and having the

'Mummy and Daddy don't love each other anymore'

conversation followed by the

'but we both still love you very, very much' one.

Before that? I guess I have a few very vague memories,
  • Our only family holiday abroad, watching this magnificent sand sculpture being formed from what began as a messy lump on the beach,
  • Opening a Walkman on Christmas Day and calling my Grandparents to announce that Santa had bought me an Allotment for Christmas..

and

  • Falling asleep on the sofa whilst Mum worked nights and Dad let me stay up past bedtime..

This near enough sums it up. These are all I can remember. Well, truely remember anyway.

About 3 weeks ago Mum went to stay with her parents, when she returned she did not come alone. In her case were around 1000 photos of my childhood. 1000 memories I had completely forgotten I had. Not only were there memories in this box I had forgotten but there was proof in this box of the faulcity of the memories I had created.

Seeing these photos has confirmed to me what an incredible woman my Mother is.

(All of this is pretty gobledegook I know, basically, without getting all emotional and all that jazz in my head I had created this childhood of being 'Daddy's little girl' I had come to believe that him and I had this very special closeness, which don't get me wrong, I am sure we did (which incidently, we lost for a very long time, being why I think I created this memory - wow, this is deep!)

Suddenly I was jolted back to remember the way things actually were, you see, Mum and Dad had me when they were very young, younger than I am now. They had no money and with debts and bills and a child to care for, this left them struggling.

When my Mother and Father decided to divorce my Mum went to University, she got her degree, graduated and moved me to one of the most beautiful places in the UK.

I have gone from living in a 2 bed, terrace house on a main road in a busy city to living in a 4 bed detatched house with a swimming pool and magnificent views.

I am not writting this to be boastful, I am writting this to proud. Proud of the achievments my Mother has made with a bit of determination and love.

My Mother proves to me everyday that anything is possible.

And she is right, anything really is possible.

Inspiration

I know, I know, I have been completely rubbish at this whole blogging thing, so here's what I'm gonna do.

I have read back over my previous posts (boy oh boy how things have changed!!) and thought I would use those as a bit of a starting point to get myself back up and running again.

I have to be honest and start with saying that it is Skywaitresses' series on dreams that has got me wanting to blog again.

Reading the numerous posts from blogger's everywhere has inspired me to crack on and welcome myself back into such a loving family of people.

At the same time as this, however, it has made me acutely aware of my lack of writing skills, practice makes perfect though hey..

So, where to start?

What's changed?

J - He's out. Thank God.

The whole smoking thing? Yep, I'm back on it.

The job - Have a fab new job working for a large company, great job, great people.

The house - I am currently living back at Mothers, I am however moving next week into a fabulous little flat with my best friend Ryn, he's awesome. Like seriously.

I think that near enough brings us up to date.

Here's to keeping up with it.

I.O.W Cont..

So, considering the aforementioned family issues I had in store to face this weekend, all in all it went very well :-)

Friday evening Mother picked me up from work, unfortunately she had a pretty bad sickness bug so we were subject to frequent stops along the way, however, a car journey, a sick bucket and a ferry ride later, we appeared on my Childhood Haven.. The Isle Of Wight.

I am going to keep this post short and sweet as the Island holds so many memories I am likely to dribble on slightly but to sum things up, seeing my Nana was incredible, catching up with my (not-so) baby brother and sister was indescribable and spending some quality time with my Mum was irreplaceable.

Unfortunatley I didn't get a chance to take many pictures whilst I was over there as I was far to busy catching up on lots of missed time with my family however you can gather lots of information about the Island and see lots of pictures here.

I.O.W

This weekend I am going to visit the Isle of Wight with my Mummy.

Sounds lovely right?

Well, yes, it is.

Weird, but lovely.

'Weird? Why is this weird?' I hear you screaming at your screens..

Well.. Let me tell you..

My Great Nana lives on the I.O.W, that being my DADS Grandmother.

So when I was younger, my Mum, Dad and I used to visit the Island on a fairly regular basis.

They split in 1997.

Anyway my Nana and Mum stayed very close, although they haven't seen each other since my parents divorced they have stayed in touch and my Mum has been there for my Nana through some pretty hard times.

So Nana is getting on a little and I know it would mean a lot for her to see my Mum so we agreed to go visit.

So far so good, UNTIL, Father decides to move to the I.O.W..

Good one Dad.

So now, Mum and I are going to visit not only my Nana but also my Dad, his Wife and their 5 children.

Just a little bizarre don't you think?
